Terms, refunds and privacy
D-Zone is free to play in your web browser. The only thing sold is the full D-Zone, which adds Missions 4 to 6. This page explains what you buy, how refunds work, and what is done with your information.
Terms of sale
Who sells D-Zone. D-Zone is made by Xalaria, the trading name of Julian Cochran, of Monaco, a sole proprietor. Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders, and Paddle provides all customer service for orders and handles returns. Paddle's own buyer terms also apply to your purchase.
What you buy. The full D-Zone adds Missions 4 to 6 (Savior, Legend and Under your wing) and their medals to D-Zone in your web browser, at xalaria.com/dzone/play. Everything else in the game is free and stays free - every weapon, every tank and upgrade, the six robots, Missions 1 to 3 and their medals. Nothing you can buy makes winning easier.
Price. USD 9.99, paid once. Taxes are included where they apply, and Paddle may show the price in your own currency. There is no subscription and no other in-game purchase.
Your licence. As soon as your payment is confirmed, the full D-Zone unlocks in the browser you bought it in, and a licence code is emailed to you.
- The code unlocks the full D-Zone in any web browser, on any of your devices. In the game, open Missions, choose Unlock Missions 4-6, then "I have a licence code".
- The code is for you and your household. Please don't share it publicly.
- Lost it? "Email me my code", in the same place, sends it again.
Delivery and the right of withdrawal. The full D-Zone is digital content, delivered immediately. Before paying, you ask for it to be unlocked straight away and confirm that you then lose the 14-day right of withdrawal that the law in the EU and some other places otherwise gives - that is the tick box before payment. Our own refund promise, below, still applies.
The game. D-Zone is provided as it is. We keep it running and improve it, but we can't promise it will work on every device or browser, or without interruption. If the full D-Zone doesn't work for you, ask for a refund.
Refunds
Our promise. If the full D-Zone isn't for you, ask within 14 days of buying and you will be refunded in full, no questions asked.
How to ask. Refunds are made by Paddle. Reply to Paddle's receipt email, or find your order at paddle.net and ask there.
After a refund. The licence code stops working, and Missions 4 to 6 close again the next time the game checks it. Everything free stays yours.
Privacy
Who is responsible. Xalaria - Julian Cochran, of Monaco, who makes D-Zone - is responsible for the information described here. For payments, Paddle is responsible for what it collects, under Paddle's privacy notice.
When you buy the full D-Zone.
- We keep your email address, your order's number and date, Paddle's transaction number, the amount and currency, your licence code, and when you ticked the box to unlock straight away.
- The email address is used only to send your licence code, to send it again when you ask, and to answer you. You won't get newsletters or adverts.
- Your card or other payment details go to Paddle only. We never see them.
- We keep order records for as long as the law requires for sales records, and for as long as your licence works.
In the game.
- Your settings, saved games, pilot names and licence code are kept in your own browser. They are not sent to us.
- If you upload a mission medal, the Medal Hall shows the pilot name you chose, the medal and the date. Your score, rounds, favourite weapon, the game's version and a random number identifying your copy of the game are kept with it.
- In D-Zone Networked, our server introduces the players' browsers for a few minutes, then the game runs directly between them. Like any direct connection, the other players' browsers can see your internet address. On networks where browsers can't connect directly, the game's messages pass through Cloudflare's relay, encrypted.
On this website. If you arrive from an advert or another website, a cookie and your browser's storage remember where you came from, for 90 days, so that downloads and purchases can be counted by where people heard of D-Zone. Our web server, like any, briefly records the requests it receives, and the pages' typefaces come from Google Fonts, which sees your internet address as they load. There are no advertising trackers, and no other company's, on D-Zone's pages.
How D-Zone is played. To learn which adverts bring players and what they enjoy, D-Zone's pages and the game send our own server short notes as they are used - the kind of device and the size of its screen, whether the page is open inside an app such as Instagram, which of the page's buttons are pressed and how far it is read, whether the game is installed, and how long and how far it is played, with where the visit came from. The Mac and Windows downloads send the same kind of note as they start and close, with the game's version and the computer's system. A note carries a random number for the visit, or for your copy of the game, and never your name, your email address, anything you type or any of your files. Like every request, it reaches our server from your internet address, but the notes themselves don't record it. They stay on our server, read only by us and by the services that help us run D-Zone - our web host, and the AI assistant that prepares our reports - and are never passed to advertisers or anyone else. They are deleted after 12 months. To stop them, turn off Anonymous play notes in the game's Options - in a browser, that also stops the notes from D-Zone's own pages there.
Your rights. You can ask to see the information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it - except order records we must keep by law. Reply to your licence email, or contact us as below.
